2022 Doubles Tournaments - Draw and Info

Hello All,

Here is some details of the squash and racketball doubles tournaments.

.

Squash Doubles

First is to say that there is a structural change to the Squash. In an attempt to maximise the number of players participating on finals night, we will be having 3 teams in the final, and do a small round robin. This will also be true of the squash plate. This is aided by the fact that we have 12 pairs, so the rounds will look like this:

.

.

Preliminary Knockout Round (self arranged by 9th March ) - 12 pairs & 6 matches, 6 winners go into the semi final, 6 into the plate.

.

Semi-Final or (Quarter Final on the website) Night - ( on 10 March ) - 6 Knockout matches, with 6 winners going into the finals night for the main competition and plate.

.

Finals night ( on 17th Marc h) - Round Robin for main competition, Round Robin for plate. I think these will each be best of 3, due to time constraints, but will think a bit more on this.

.

Here is the draw that is on the website. The bottom quarter ad semi-final column will not be used.

Racketball Doubles.

As there are 8 pairs who entered, this will be of a more traditional format, with one main competition match and one plate match on the finals day.

.

Preliminary Knockout Round (self arranged by 9th March) - 8 pairs & 4 matches, 4 winners go into the semi final, 4 into the plate semi final

.

Semi-Final Night - (on 10 March) - 4 Knockout matches, with 2 winners going into the finals night for the main competition and 2 into the plate.

.

Finals night (on 17th March) - Main competition final and plate final.

.

Here is the draw that is on the website.

So the aim is to maximise participation and atendamce on the semi-finals and finals night. Even if not playing, come ad watch or better stil, come and mark.

I will update with more info, recap on the rules etc. soon.

Enjoy

Neil
